MD/MPH -UT Austin Dell Medical School

UTHealth School of Public Health in collaboration with The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School offers students the opportunity to obtain a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree along with their medical doctorate. The MD/MPH dual degree program incorporates a four-year integrated plan. Students should apply to the UTHealth School of Public Health at the same time as Dell Medical School, although application decisions will be considered by each institution separately.

Current medical students, interested in pursuing this dual degree opportunity, may apply to the MD/MPH dual degree program up to and during the fall semester of their second year of medical training. The UTHealth School of Public Health application procedures and deadlines should be followed.

Dual degree program applicants who have received admissions to, or are current students of, The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School by the time their application is submitted to the UTHealth School of Public Health are not required to submit GRE scores.

Four-Year Plan

During year 3 of the medical school curriculum, students in the dual degree program are concurrently enrolled at both The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and the UTHealth School of Public Health, Austin Campus. Interested students may apply early (as soon as possible after medical school acceptance) so that they can enroll in online classes during the summer before they begin medical school.
