Healthcare Management Certificate

Healthcare Management Certificate Program

The Certificate in Healthcare Management is intended for health practitioners and individuals wishing to increase their knowledge in healthcare management. The certificate is also appropriate for individuals who are considering an MPH in Healthcare Management but would first like exposure to many of the courses. For more information about our MPH in Healthcare Management go to the UTHealth School of Public Health George McMillan Fleming Center for Healthcare Management webpage at https://sph.uth.edu/research/centers/fleming/

The five courses in this non-degree program cover the core content of healthcare management. In person classes are available at the Houston campus and via ITV across other UTHealth School of Public Health Campuses. Most of the courses are taught in the early evening, allowing working professionals to easily pursue the certificate.

A certificate is awarded to students who pass all five courses.

Healthcare Management Certificate Curriculum

Students may complete the certificate program in one year by taking two classes in both spring and fall semesters and one class during the summer semester. Students earning a grade of C or higher in all five courses will receive a certificate stating that they have completed the core courses in healthcare management. Transcripts will indicate the classes taken and the award of a certificate.

The credits earned in the certificate program may be applied toward an MPH degree at UTHealth School of Public Health.  This applies only if the applicant gains admission to the MPH program within 5 years of completing the certificate.  For more information about our MPH in Healthcare Management go to UTHealth School of Public Health George McMillan Fleming Center for Healthcare Management webpage at https://sph.uth.edu/research/centers/fleming/
