Behaviors covered include: Unintentional Injuries and Violence Dietary Behaviors; Tobacco Use; Physical Activity; Alcohol and Other Drug Use; and Sexual Behaviors. Cities surveyed include: Dallas and Houston.

Dallas Ft. Worth Hospital Council

  • Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Johnson, and Denton Counties Checkup (2002, 2004, 2005)
    • There are 5 reports, one for each county
  • Community Healthcare Reports (1997 to 2002 data; Scroll down to link to the reports)
    These provide data from hospitals in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area and provide data on:

Community Health Information System (CHIS) Data (St. Luke's Episcopal Health Charities; county and some Census tract level data; 57 counties in SE Texas )

Ambulatory Care for the Urban Poor: Structure, Financing, and System Stability (Urban Institute; 2001 report)
This report looks at the state of ambulatory care in 3 cities: Houston, Denver and LA. It provides good background information. This is a report, not just a collection of data.

Developing Affordable Access to Effective Healthcare in Central Texas (ICC of Central Texas; 2000 and 2002 reports)
Reports on use of primary care services for indigent health care among Travis County safety net providers, emergency department use in Travis, Hays, and Williamson counties, and the current availability of and public expenditures for health care services in the 5-county Austin–San Marcos SMSA, which includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Williamson, and Travis counties.
