Post a Practicum
Under the direction of a faculty mentor, our graduate students work closely with a host-site supervisor (or preceptor) to design and complete a 180 contact hour experience and project that both engages the student’s goals and interests and benefits your organization. For more information about hosting a practicum, you may reference our Practicum Guide for Preceptors.
Organizations that want to host a practicum have two options for connecting with our students.
Option 1: Post your opportunity directly in Handshake
We utilize Handshake, an online job board and career development platform, to share openings and opportunities with our students and alumni. This option is best for organizations with a set role in mind for a student to fill as part of their practicum experience. Employers are welcome to create position-specific postings or general postings to market multiple available opportunities and guide students to appropriate resources. For more information, be sure to review our Preceptor’s Guide to Handshake.
Option 2: Work with us to connect with Handshake and our students
If you would like to host a practicum student, but do not have a specific opportunity planned or would like assistance connecting with Handshake or our students, please complete our Preceptor Inquiry Form and a member of the Office of Public Health Practice and Engagement practicum team will contact you with additional information. If you have any questions, please email the practicum team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
