Selection Process

The program Steering Committee will review only completed applications. Selection of participants will be determined by the quality of the application, and an interview at which the applicant will discuss their research proposal and learning experiences during graduate school. Also important are the applicant’s communication skills, overall scientific knowledge, and research potential in the area of gene-environment interaction. Students whose education or experience predicts success in multi-disciplinary studies, such as double or interdisciplinary majors will receive special consideration.

Students accepted in the program will be notified by the beginning of August 2013, and their appointment will begin on September 1, 2013.
