I grew up in Auburn, Alabama, and graduated from Auburn University with a BA in Spanish-International Trade with a minor in Social Work. I earned my dual Masters of Social Work/Masters of Public Health from UT Austin and UTHealth School of Public Health in Austin, and am currently pursuing my PhD in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science. Previously, I worked on the Restore Rundberg project as well as Dell Center projects TX CORD and Brighter Bites. Currently, I am working on the Brighter Bites Plate Waste Study in Houston and Dallas. I am passionate about combining public health and social justice. Research interests include health literacy and nutrition in low-income populations.

I love my dog, running (and training for the 3M half marathon in January!), yoga, exploring local farmers markets, and am currently working my own small balcony garden with tomatoes, herbs, and pepper plants. I also love traveling, and am fluent in Spanish and am working on learning French and Hindi.
