Vernon Andrew

Hi! My name is Andrew and I am originally from the small country of Belize, which is located in Central America. As of August 2017, I have enrolled as a full-time student into the UTH-SPH, DrPH program with a focus in Health Promotion / Health Education, at the El Paso Texas regional campus. In the fall of 2007 I obtained my degree in Medicine from the Central America Health Science University, Belize C.A. and in the spring of 2013 my Masters in Public Health from New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, NM.

Over the past four years, I has been an integral part of evaluation, development and implementation of health systems / interventions in several countries across the Americas and Caribbean, most notable of these was works down in Belize where I assisted the government of Belize’s, Ministry of Health in developing and implementing health programs such as the Japanese Social Development Fund; the core objective was “to improve the health and nutrition of children in rural Toledo”. This initiative was funded by the World Bank in the total sum of USD 2.75 million, 

I also represented the Belize government in the development of the social health and health aspects of international donor sounded programs such as the Eleventh European Development Fund and the 2013 Banana Accompanying Measures, which were funded by the European Union totaling in sum of €13 million.
