Deanna Hoelscher, PhD, RDN, was quoted in 
The Daily Texan about grants totaling nearly $3.7 million that will support efforts to combat childhood obesity in Texas.

KHOU-TV Channel 11 reporter interviewed James Langabeer, PhD, MBA, about the opioid epidemic in Houston. The story, which was also posted on, included information about how to enroll in the HEROES program, an opioid intervention program Langabeer created.

Wesley McWhorter, MS, RD, was quoted in a Shape Magazine article about ways to cook and eat chayote, a type of squash, and its nutritional benefits. The story was also picked up by Food & Wine and Yahoo! Finance.
