NewsUTHealth School of Public Health was featured in the following media stories recently.

Student Andrew Braun was featured in the ASPPH Friday Letter for having been selected as a RAMP Scholar through the HIV Vaccine Trials Network.

Todd Ackerman, medical writer for the Houston Chronicle, interviewed Robert Emery, Dr.P.H., about the dangers lurking in floodwater for a story that will run in the Chronicle's annual hurricane guide.

Steven Kelder, Ph.D., M.P.H., was interviewed by Spectrum News about the dangers of e-cigarettes and why they are so popular among teenagers. 

Houston Public Media reported on a new survey by the Institute for Health Policy at UTHealth School of Public Health which found high rates of psychological distress among those affected by Hurricane Harvey months after the storms. A reporter for the New York Times interviewed Stephen Linder, Ph.D., about the results. This news was also featured in the ASPPH Friday Letter.

Lisa Pompeii, Ph.D., R.N., was interviewed on a national radio program called The Takeaway, produced by Public Radio International and WNYC, about her research on workplace violence in light of the recent shooting at YouTube headquarters (Pompeii's segment begins at 2:58 minutes). The program reaches nearly 2.7 million listeners.
