UTHealth School of Public Health was featured in the following media stories recently.

NewsAlumna Theresa Byrd, Dr.P.H., was featured in the ASPPH news for having received the APHA Public Health Education and Health Promotion Distinguished Career Award.

Herbert DuPont, M.D., shared advice for avoiding travel-related illness this holiday season in a story on TMC News.

Research by Alan Nyitray, Ph.D., about the prevalence of HPV infections among male virgins was included in a Houston Chronicle story by medical reporter Todd Ackerman. Nyitray was also interviewed by Contagion.com. Gizmodo.com and ScienceDaily. The story was featured in ASPPH news as well.

Shreela Sharma, Ph.D., R.D., was featured as part of Southern Living magazine's "30 incredible women moving Southern food forward" for her work with Brighter Bites.

Catherine Troisi, Ph.D., told Stephanie Whitfield of KHOU-TV Channel 11 that it's going to be rough year for the flu and it's not too late to get a vaccination. Portions of the interview aired at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. Dec. 26, as well as 6 a.m. the next day.

Student Ryan Van Ramshorst was interviewed by KENS Channel 5 in San Antonio, which was broadcast on Facebook Live recently.
