NewsUTHealth School of Public Health was featured in the following media stories recently.

Catherine Troisi, PhD, MS, was interviewed by KTRH Radio about the rare polio-like condition called acute flaccid myelitis, which affects mainly children and is on the rise according to the CDC. Its online story also quoted Troisi.

Research data by Joseph McCormick, MD, MS, was cited by The Monitor in a story about the prevalence of Type 2 diabetes in the Rio Grande Valley.

Marcia Otto, PhD, was quoted in a Saúde article about her research finding no significant link between dairy fats and cause of death, heart disease or stroke. The article was also featured in the October issue of the Brazilian health magazine.

Brett Perkison, MD, was cited in an Employee Benefit News article about what makes employee flu shot programs successful.

Alumna Rafia Rasu, PhD, was featured in the ASPPH News after she accepted a tenured full professor position at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
