Robert Emery, Dr.P.H., provided information to a reporter for TMC News for a story on how Houston medical organizations used technology in their hurricane preparations. He also was included in a MedPage Today story about healers who became heroes during Hurricane Harvey.

Joseph McCormick, M.D., discussed the state of health for Valley residents in an interview with KURV Radio in the Rio Grande Valley. He also was interviewed by a writer for HealthDay about an embargoed study on the Zika virus.

In her regular column with the Brownsville Herald and Harlingen Valley Morning Star, Lisa Mitchell-Bennett, M.P.H., wrote about a community cycling event and a youth-led initiative to improve the quality of life in Brownsville:

Alan Nyitray, Ph.D., was featured in the ASPPH news for receiving a $2.5 million grant to develop anal cancer screening protocol.

The Philip R. Nader Legacy of Health Lectureship was promoted on five online calendars including the Houston Chronicle and CultureMap. The event takes place on Oct. 11 in the School of Public Health's first floor auditorium in Houston.
