Hurricane Harvey coverage:

UTHealth faculty and students were included in a TMC News photo gallery on Hurricane Harvey volunteers.

Robert "Safety Bob" Emery, Dr. P.H.
, addressed the health risks associated with gas-powered generators in an article in the Texas Tribune.

On FOX 26 News, Emery discussed hurricane cleanup safety tips.

He was also interviewed by KPRC radio, while Scott Patlovich, Dr. P.H. spoke with KTEK Radio on the same topic.

Emery also addressed post-hurricane mishaps in stories in the Houston Chronicle and KCRW, the NPR affiliate in Los Angeles and KPRC Radio. He also described the flood doors at McGovern Medical School and walking seven miles to work in sometimes chest-deep water in an article from The Scientist.

The Daily Texan, the student newspaper of The University of Texas at Austin, also ran an article featuring information by Emery on the effects of Hurricane Harvey.

In the September issue of TMC Pulse, Deanna Holescher, Ph.D., R.D., was quoted in a back-to-school story about healthy lunch ideas for kids.

Alan Nyitray, Ph.D., was featured in a Reuters Health story about his newest study on the importance of self and partner exams to detect anal cancer.

Kelley Pettee Gabriel, Ph.D., was interviewed by KXAN-TV in Austin about her newest research on the relationship between income and physical activity levels.
