School of Public Health faculty members receive PRIME grants

Kristina Whitworth, Ph.D., and Kai Zhang, Ph.D.

HOUSTON – (May 22, 2015) – The School of Public Health recently awarded two PRIME grants for new investigators to Kristina Whitworth, Ph.D., an assistant professor at the San Antonio Regional Campus, for her research “Feasibility of Assessing Biomarkers of Exposure to Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Fetal Growth Among Pregnant Women Attending a UTHealth Prenatal Clinic”; and Kai Zhang, Ph.D., an assistant professor in Houston, for his study “Impact of the 2011 Heat Wave on Health Care Costs in Greater Houston.”  

Both Whitworth and Zhang are part of the Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health.
