SWCOEH hosts annual EHS Academy

Global Reach Photo

The Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (SWCOEH) Continuing Education (CE) Program hosted its annual Environmental Health and Safety Academy from September 17th through September 21st.  From lectures to hands-on applications to interactive contest-like games, EHS Academy instructors emphasize evaluating and controlling workplace hazards, particularly those found in academic environments.

This year’s group of occupational and environmental health participants represented an impressive global reach.  In addition to many from across the U.S. mainland, course participants included Nicholas Dighiera of the University of Alaska at Anchorage (back row) and Raven Landry of Texas A&M University at Qatar (front center).  They are flanked by CE Director Dr. Janelle Rios and Safety, Health, Environment and Risk Management Vice President Dr. Bob Emery.
