Project Details
This Stage II randomized controlled trial will test the efficacy of the culturally tailored MIND+SOUL dietary intervention for improving cognition in Black adults aged 50+ with elevated cardiometabolic risk. A total of 110 participants will be randomized to the 12-week MIND+SOUL program or an active control (Chronic Disease Self-Management Program). Primary outcomes are executive function and global cognition, with secondary outcomes including diet quality and cardiometabolic risk. The study will also examine behavioral mechanisms of dietary change using the IMB and COM-B frameworks to inform scalable strategies for dementia prevention in underrepresented aging populations.
