Houston mother, 6-year-old son, battle long COVID

Recent surveys estimate around 5% of Texas kids are suffering from the condition, but that may only be the tip of the iceberg.

Recent surveys estimate around 5% of Texas kids are suffering from Long COVID.

Six-year-old Jackson of Northwest Houston, along with his mom Alyssa Everett, suffers from long COVID. Jackson initially caught the virus in January of 2021, but his symptoms were mild. Weeks later his mom noticed something was off while he was playing. What resulted has been 2 years of headaches, chest pain and low energy.

A recent study from UTHealth surveyed 1,800 kids across Texas and found around 5%  reported COVID symptoms for four to 12 weeks. But that might just be the tip of the iceberg.
