Dr. Markham is the deputy director of the UTPRC and and an associate professor of Behavioral Science and Health Promotion at the University of Texas School of Public Health. She is also associate director of the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research (CHPPR) at the University of Texas School of Public Health. She was the principal investigator for the It’s Your Game…Keep it Real Risk Avoidance randomized controlled trial. She is joint principal investigator on a project to adapt It’s Your Game…Keep It Real for Native American and Alaska Native youth.
Dr. Peskin is the associate director of evaluation for the UTPRC and the principal investigator for the Center’s new core research project on mobilizing community partnerships for effective sexual health education in middle school. She is also the co-principal investigator for the It’s Your Game…Keep it Real Tech study, a randomized controlled trial evaluating an online version of the It’s Your Game…Keep it Real program. She is an assistant professor at The University of Texas School of Public Health.
Dr. Shegog is the associate director of communication and dissemination for the UTPRC. His research focus is on the development and evaluation of computer-based applications for adolescent health promotion and disease management behavior change. He is currently co-principal investigator with Dr. Charles Begley on a CDC Special Interest Project (SIP09-12) to develop and evaluate a clinic-based decision-support application for epilepsy management. He is also the co-principal investigator for the It’s Your Game…Keep it Real Tech study, a randomized controlled trial evaluating an online version of the It’s Your Game…Keep it Real program. He is an assistant professor at The University of Texas School of Public Health, adjunct professor with the University of Texas School of Health Information Sciences, and oversees the UTPRC’s communication strategy.
Dr. Tortolero is the director of the University of Texas Prevention Research Center and an associate professor of Behavioral Science and Health Promotion, and Epidemiology at the University of Texas School of Public Health. She is also the director of the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research (CHPPR) at the University of Texas School of Public Health. Dr. Tortolero is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Primary Prevention, and vice chair for the Texas Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy. She was the principal investigator for the first It’s Your Game…Keep it Real randomized controlled trial.
