Title: Leading Pharmaceutical Drug Development through Proficiency in Biostatistics and Data Science
Abstract:
The success of pharmaceutical drug development hinges upon the successful collaboration of professionals in diverse disciplines, including experts in basic science, clinical physicians, statisticians, and various supporting functions. While quantitative scientists play a pivotal role in every phase of drug development, effective communication often becomes a challenge in teams with varied training and educational backgrounds. In this lecture, I will delve into the intricacies of team dynamics within drug development and explain the business challenges that statisticians and data scientists can adeptly address using their core skills. Furthermore, I will outline several practical frameworks designed to facilitate the resolution of these business challenges through collaborative efforts. These frameworks will empower quantitative scientists to visualize a clear path to regulatory success in the drug development process and position them as leaders within the business.
