About
Yucheng Hou, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, Policy, and Community Health at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. As a health economist and health services researcher, Dr. Hou studies how health care organizational structure and financial incentives shape care delivery and outcomes for individuals with complex care needs, including those with serious mental illness and those living with Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias. Her research uses causal inference methods and large-scale administrative data to study how market consolidation and value-based payment models influence care coordination, health care spending, and quality of care. Her work has been published in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, including JAMA Health Forum and JAMA Network Open. Dr. Hou earned her PhD in Health Policy and Management (Economics Track) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her MPP from the University of Michigan.
