About
My research program focuses on the genetics and genomics of brain vascular disease and brain aging in well-characterized populations from young adulthood to old age. I conduct large-scale studies in diverse populations to the identify genes for stroke, dementia, and associated neuroimaging traits. I trained in human genetics and molecular epidemiology of cardiovascular disease. I am an active investigator of several large national and international consortia, including the Cohorts of Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology (CHARGE) consortium, the NIA Alzheimer Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP), and the NHLBI Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) Program.
