HPV — human papillomavirus — is a common virus that can infect and affect both males and females. This virus spreads through skin-to-skin contact. A person may not realize they have HPV because most of the time, the virus does not cause symptoms.

All for Them North Texas graduate research assistant making mark as HSC veteran

Linda Wolff, a graduate research assistant for All for Them, said she’s always needed a sense of purpose. After attending junior college for a time, she entered the U.S. Air Force and served for six years on active duty and two years in the reserves. A few months from now, she will graduate with her Master of Public Health degree from The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth’s School of Public Health.

Projects spearheaded by the School of Public Health researchers focus on promoting healthy habits to prevent cancer, facilitating communication and implementation strategies to promote the HPV vaccineand utilizing early detection strategies to detect and prevent breast and cervical cancer in underserved Latina communities.
