Research

Objectives

Dr. Irene Tamí-Maury's research group is a collaborative hub dedicated to developing innovative, technology-driven solutions for improving outcomes in cancer and other chronic diseases, particularly among communities with limited access to care. Our work focuses on digital-based research across a range of topics in cancer prevention and control, including tobacco and nicotine use. Through our efforts, we aim to generate impactful knowledge, guide effective interventions, and enhance quality of life. We invite individuals, students, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and researchers to explore our webpage as a resource for advancing health access in under-resourced areas of the U.S. and globally.

Decision-T

Decision-T

Decision-T is a smartphone application developed to support healthcare professionals in delivering smoking prevention and cessation services. This digital decision-making tool was pilot-tested among a diverse group of providers—including those in HIV care, cancer care, primary care, and dental care—and showed high levels of acceptability, ease of use, and practical functionality. Its intuitive design empowers clinicians to navigate the app confidently and integrate it seamlessly into their practice. Dr. Tamí-Maury is the Principal Investigator for this effort.
