ACTG 315 Long-Term Viral Dynamics for Semiparametric Nonlinear Mixed-Effects Models

Data

1. The data were produced from AIDS Clinical Trials Group, ACTG 315 study, which is sponsored by NIAID/NIH. If you have any questions regarding the data, you may contact Dr. Hulin Wu by email: hwu@bst.rochester.edu.

2. The detailed biomedical findings from this study and more detailed description of the study design can be found from the primary and secondary publications of this study, Lederman et al (1998) and Connick et al. (2000) (see below for these references).

3. This data set was used in the paper by Wu and Zhang (2002, Statistics in Medicine) in which more details about the data can be found. A semiparametric Nonlinear Mixed-Effects (NLME) Models was proposed to fit to this data set in this paper.

4. Early viral dynamics of this study was modeled by

Some further viral dynamic analyses for this study (including other long-term viral dynamics and covariates analyses) can be found in other pages of our website.

5. Forty-eight evaluable HIV-1 infected patients were treated with potent antiviral therapy consisting of ritonavir, 3TC and AZT. The viral load were monitored at treatment days -35,-7, 0,2,7,10,14,28,56, 84, 168 and 336. The viral load data below detection limit were imputed as 50.
