Immunizations are one of the 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century and have prevented countless illnesses as well as saving lives. Required school vaccinations protect both the child who is immunized and the community at large including those who can’t be vaccinated. We’ll discuss how vaccines work, the safety record of vaccines, myths and misinformation , current coverage rates, and public health law as it relates to required school immunizations.
