Event Description

The Annual Philip R. Nader Legacy of Health Lectureship promotes and inspires academics, providers, public health students and community residents to stimulate the fields of primary prevention and community pediatrics. The overall goal is to move the needle toward an improved health status for both parents and children by focusing on early lifecycle systems.

The 10th Annual Lectureship, "Culinary Medicine as Catalyst: Bridging Public Health, Primary Care, and Community Partnership, will feature keynote speaker Dr. Jaclyn Lewis Albin.

Food is a powerful tool for prevention, connection, and health transformation. This lecture explores the evolution of a culinary medicine and food as medicine model rooted in interprofessional education, clinical innovation, and sustainable community-academic partnerships. Through real-world examples from North Texas, the presentation will demonstrate how linking public health and primary care through food and cooking can empower communities, inspire meaningful research, and promote collaboration in health systems. Attendees will gain insights into strategies for planning and building sustainable programs that leverage community expertise and reimagine systems that nourish health from the ground up.

This 1.5-hour webinar will include introductions, background on Dr. Nader’s legacy, the keynote presentation from Dr. Albin, and an opportunity for interactive questions and answers with attendees.

We are pleased to offer 1.0 Entry-Level CHES/MCHES® credits for this webinar! The Michael & Susan Dell Center for Healthy Living is a Designated Provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) for Certified Health Education Specialists/Master Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES/MCHES®) through The National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.
