About
Since July 2022, I am a professor (with Tenure) and Vice Chair of the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science at the University of Texas School of Public Health, Houston. I am also part of the UTHealth Houston Institute for Implementation Science and Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials (CCCT). Before joining UTHealth, I was Charles H. Gershenson Distinguished Faculty Fellow of Wayne State University, for more than 10 years. My current methodological research is focused on developing statistical methods targeted primarily for precision and personalized medicine through Intervention/Clinical trials. Some of the areas include Non-inferiority, Cluster-Randomized, Stepped Wedge, MOST/SMART/JITAI, N-of-1, and Bayesian Adaptive trials. Specifically, Mental Health, CVD, and Behavioral Intervention are a few areas where I have considerable domain knowledge because of my research collaborations. I am a standing member of an NIMH review panel and serve regularly as a reviewer on other federal and non-federal agencies (e.g. PCORI, DOD/CDMRP, etc.). I am a member of the American Statistical Association (ASA) and one of the founding members of the Statistics in Mental Health Section of ASA.
