About
Ashraf Yaseen is a data scientist with research and teaching interests in data management and analysis, machine learning, big data, bioinformatics, and high-performance computing. He has extensive experience in computer programming, database design, implementation and management, and software development. Since he joined UTHealth, Dr. Yaseen has become more focused on healthcare data analysis and management. The goal is to develop and promote innovative health-data science technologies to improve the health of the people of Texas, the nation and the world. In his current research work, Dr. Yaseen is exploring Big Data and Deep Learning technologies in Electronic Health Records data to address clinical and public health questions. Furthermore, given his strong experience in software development, Dr. Yaseen is leading a team of programmers/web developers and data managers in implementing several software tools for the University.
