Dr. Nola Eugene is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences in Houston, Texas. She has over 9 years of experience in adolescent health promotion and evaluation research with a focus on the prevention of risky behaviors among vulnerable youth. She has evaluated projects funded by SAMHSA, the Federal Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), and the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) that have been implemented with diverse populations (e.g. homeless and HIV-positive youth) in different urban and rural settings (e.g., schools and CBOs). Her work in adolescent health has focused on evaluating Evidence-Based Programs/Interventions that address the following critical areas: STIs, pregnancy, human trafficking, homelessness, recidivism, mental illness, and substance abuse. Dr. Eugene’s technical reports (and data analysis) have been used to inform national briefs and presentations by FYSB through their Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (APP) and Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Projects.
