Dr. Jenil Patel received his PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Texas School of Public Health at Houston. Dr. Patel is a trained physician from India and received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree from Smt. B. K. Shah Medical Institute and Research Center, Gujarat University. He holds an MPH in health education from Western Kentucky University. After receiving his PhD, he completed his postdoctoral fellowship in Department of Epidemiology at Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in conjunction with the Arkansas Center for Birth Defects Research and Prevention. Dr. Patel is also a UW Collaborative Center for Health Equity’s HELI program Scholar. His research interests include pediatric and perinatal epidemiology, occupational health, health disparities, global health and epidemiologic outbreak investigations. He also serves as the Director of the Pilot Projects Research Training Program at Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center (NIOSH-ERC) at UTHealth School of Public Health.
