About

My work involves finding ways to optimize the scale-up of childhood obesity-related interventions from both implementation and translational perspectives. I have specific expertise in school-based physical activity promotion (both as a researcher and former K12 teacher) and aim to use these experiences to improve physical activity interventions in rural communities. Most recently I have been expanding my focus to the complete 24hr movement behavior cycle and plan to complement my community-based intervention research with observational research in both urban and rural settings using context-specific approaches as a way to understand barriers and facilitators of meeting the 24hr movement behavior guidelines.
