I am interested in developing Bayesian and hierarchical models for multi-factorial traits. My application areas focus on identifying genetic, environmental, nutritional, and/or behavioral factors associated with cancer/cancer related outcomes, birth defects, smoking addiction, health services, and trauma care and survival.My scientific background includes experience with observational and population-based studies, randomized studies, case control studies, statistical programming, developing and maintaining databases and using a multitude of statistical software packages such as SAS, Stata, R, and WinBUGS. My statistical expertise focuses on the development and application of statistical methods for analyzing complex outcomes, such as cancer, addiction, birth defects and others, and identifying the genetic and/or environmental factors associated with them. I have primarily focused on Bayesian hierarchical modeling, including Bayesian model averaging and Bayesian stochastic search methods, and I have also performed multiple applications of frequentist methods for various epidemiological studies, causal analysis of observational data, and clinical trials.
