Our new student orientation is designed to set you on the path to success. This mandatory, one-day orientation is designed to provide you with information about school resources, staff, and the opportunities that await you. Join us as we embark on this exciting adventure together, laying the groundwork for not just a successful academic career but a fulfilling and enriching graduate experience.
Process
STEP 1
Secure your spot at UTHealth Houston by accepting your offer and paying your $200 enrollment deposit.
STEP 2
Resolve holds and complete your pre-orientation modules before registration on July 10.
Pre-orientation modules are available on Canvas and can be completed once your background check and identity management holds have been removed from your account.

Do I need to register for classes before orientation?
No, registering for classes before orientation is not required but it is recommended.

What if I need accommodations?
If you require accommodations for orientation, please email [email protected] at least one week before orientation.

What if I am unable to attend orientation?
If you are not able to attend your orientation session, a makeup session will be required and a hold will be placed on your account until you attend. Please email [email protected] for information about dates

When will the pre-orientation hold on my account be removed?
Please allow 3-5 business days from completion for your pre-orientation hold to be removed.

Do I need to attend orientation in Houston or can I attend at the location I was admitted to?
You do not need to travel to Houston for orientation. All locations will host orientation sessions for incoming students. Virtual orientation sessions are available for eligible students.
International students are required to attend in-person at our Houston location.
