Research

Objectives

Welcome to the Big-data and Infectious Disease Modeling Lab (the BI Lab), housed within the School of Public Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

At the BI Lab, we focus on advancing research in epidemic dynamics and evaluating interventions to enhance public health outcomes and guide evidence-based policy. Our expertise lies in the use of mathematical modeling, data-driven simulations, machine learning, and optimization to study the transmission and control of infectious diseases. We also apply these quantitative methods to explore chronic diseases and other pressing public health challenges.
