Topic: Human Health Risks Across Recreational Water Environments Speaker: Valeria Ruvalcaba, MPH Valeria Ruvalcaba is a PhD candidate at UTHealth with a concentration in environmental disease prevention. Working in collaboration with Dr. Anna Gitter, their research focuses on water quality in recreational waters, with particular emphasis on microbial source tracking (MST) and quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA). Their work aims to better understand and mitigate health risks associated with environmental exposures in recreational waters. Valeria is currently at the El Paso campus where she was born and raised and hopes to continue her career in the borderland.Event Site Link
