About
I am trained as a behavioral scientist and focus on cancer prevention and control related to health equity. My research addresses novel strategies for reducing risk factors (promoting healthy diets and physical activity) for cancer and chronic diseases in minority/underserved populations; the development and assessment of technology-based interventions to enhance physical activity and decrease sedentary behaviors among breast cancer survivors; and using tailored health communication and peer support approaches to enhance health promotion. My research takes place in churches, community-based clinics, and low-income settings with marked health disparities.
