The Dallas Bar Association (DBA), a 150-year-old professional, voluntary organization comprised of more than 11,500 lawyers in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, will host the inauguration of its 114th President on February 11, 2023. Leading the Association will be Cheryl Camin Murray, a 1999 alumni of UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, and Partner at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, whose practice focuses on healthcare regulation, compliance, and transactional legal issues.

"I am extremely honored to be serving in this role and have the opportunity to work with such talented leaders for the benefit of the Dallas legal community. There is a prestigious list of attorneys who have served as President of the Dallas Bar Association. This year is the 150th anniversary of the Dallas Bar Association, and it is a privilege to play a part in celebrating its 150 years of accomplishments," said Camin Murray.

Camin Murray has been on the DBA Board of Directors for many years and has served on a variety of DBA committees and sections. She is a co-founder of the DBA’s Public Forum Committee, and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers’ (DAYL) Freedom Run, in addition to having served as DAYL Secretary, Treasurer, and Director. A graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, cum laude, Camin Murray received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her Master of Public Health in Health Service Organizations at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health.

"I believe I am a better lawyer and my career is more fulfilling due to my service as the Dallas Bar Association President. The Dallas Bar President has a wonderful platform for developing programs and projects that help the professional and personal lives of lawyers as well as their overall well-being," said Camin Murray.

She has been recognized in numerous publications including Chambers, D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas, Super Lawyers, and Super Lawyers Rising Stars. Awards include a DBA Presidential Citation, DAYL Outstanding Director of the Year, Texas Young Lawyers Association President’s Award of Merit, and Working Mother’s Mother of the Year in 2020.
