Congratulations to EHGES and Human Genetics Center associate professor Bing Yu, PhD, FAHA on her appointment as the new holder of The JLH Foundation Chair in Transplant Prevention, at the School of Public Health.

As a molecular epidemiologist, Dr. Yu has dedicated her career to cardiovascular disease prevention and has focused on the integration of state-of-the-art panomics to identify novel biomarkers, highlight targetable pathways, and improve disease prediction. Her appointment to an endowed position is one of the greatest honors UTHealth can bestow on a faculty member. With the endowed professorship, Dr. Yu will continue her study of the molecular mechanism of heart failure, and its effects on other organs, with the ultimate goal of preventing transplants.
