Ramphul, who works as a spatial epidemiologist brings extensive experience in geospatial mapping, GIS (geographic information systems) analysis, and urban planning.




The Gus Schumacher Nutrition Incentive Program (GusNIP) awards $483,612 to School-Based Produce Prescription evaluation

Brighter Bites, in partnership with UTHealth Houston School of Public Health has received $483,612 in federal funding as part of USDA GusNIP grants. This grant will help examine, assess, and address nutritional needs through the Brighter Bites’ home-delivery Produce Prescription Program. The program utilizes DoorDash to deliver fresh fruits and vegetables to students and their families at four school-based health clinics in Galena Park ISD, Texas.

The Health Equity Collective is a core infrastructure initiative of the UTHealth Houston Center for Health Equity. Using a collective impact approach, the HEC gathers stakeholders from 200+ organizations across sectors (e.g., government, payers, CBOs, healthcare, corporate) with the mission of establishing an impactful, collective, sustainable, data-driven system to promote health equity by addressing social determinants of health needs among Greater Houston residents.

Shreela Sharma, PhD, RDN, LD, Heidi Hagen McPherson, MPH, Jemima John, PhD, MPH, and Rosalia Guerrero, MBA, CHWI, presented at the Healthier Texas Summit in Austin, TX, October 5-6. This annual conference features keynote speakers, break-out sessions, and Q&A panels with over 700 healthcare professionals, leaders, and innovators present.
