EBP Selection Guide

CHAMPSS Toolbox > Select > EBP Selection Guide

What is the purpose of this tool?

The Evidence-Based Program (EBP) Selection Guide is a quick way to identify EBPs that may fit your district’s needs. The tool lists target population, training requirements, cost, program length and other criteria that may be helpful when selecting an EBP. Note that if a program is not on the list, then more than likely it is not an EBP. For more information on EBPs and guidance on selecting an EBP, visit the iCHAMPSS Introduction to Evidence-Based Programs Facts & Tips Sheet and the Smart Program Shopping Facts & Tips Sheet.

Who should receive this tool?

The guide may be printed and distributed to district members who will be reviewing and selecting evidence-based programs for your district. This may include:

  • District wellness coordinators
  • Curriculum coordinators
  • SHAC members

What else do I need to know before using the EBP Selection Guide?

This guide is a consolidated listing of EBPs found in the databases of the Office of Adolescent Health and the National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy. For further information on these resources, visit Helpful Links: National Lists of EBPs.
