Join us on Wednesday, October 21 at noon via Microsoft Teams for our next Center for Health Care Data Seminar presentation! Speaker: Jingkai Wei, PhD, MSPH, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at McGovern Medical School, UTHealth Houston Title: Hearing Aid Initiation and Dementia Among Older Adults Abstract: Hearing loss is a potentially modifiable risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD), yet whether initiating hearing aids reduces dementia risk remains uncertain. This presentation will introduce an R21 project using target trial emulation and the Texas All-Payor Claims Database to evaluate hearing aid initiation and incident ADRD among older adults with diagnosed hearing loss enrolled in Medicaid or Medicare Advantage.Event Site Link
