About
Dr. Ginger Raya is a nationally recognized healthcare leader, educator, and mentor with more than two decades of experience advancing healthcare management, leadership development, and organizational performance across academic and healthcare systems. She is known for bridging executive practice and graduate education to prepare current and future leaders for the complexity of modern healthcare. Dr. Raya serves as Center Director of the George McMillan Fleming Center for Healthcare Management and Associate Professor at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health, where she leads statewide partnerships, develops graduate and executive leadership programs, and mentors clinicians and healthcare leaders. In 2025, she launched the Executive Certificate in Healthcare Management & Leadership, a nationally accessible program designed to strengthen leadership capacity in underserved and rural healthcare systems. The program equips mid-career professionals with applied expertise in strategy, finance, and change leadership to address real-world healthcare challenges. Prior to academia, Dr. Raya held senior leadership roles within large, complex healthcare organizations, including HCA Healthcare and Texas Tech Health El Paso, where her work in operational transformation, patient experience, and revenue optimization informed best practices adopted across multiple divisions. This executive experience continues to shape her practice-informed approach to teaching and mentoring. Dr. Raya’s leadership has been recognized through honors including TAMACC Woman of Distinction, ACHE Service Award, and nomination for the HCA President’s Diamond Award. A sought-after speaker, she delivers keynotes and national presentations on healthcare leadership, professional development, and workforce readiness. She also serves in prominent leadership roles, including Chair of the El Paso Chamber Healthcare Coalition, President of ACHE of the Southwest, and host of The Healthspark Podcast.
