About
Dr. Ginger Raya is the Center Leader of the George McMillan Fleming Center for Healthcare Management and an Associate Professor at the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. With over 20 years of experience as faculty, course developer, and healthcare administrator, Dr. Raya has a distinguished career in the healthcare industry. She is also a certified career coach, dedicated to guiding professionals in their career development. Before joining UTHealth, Dr. Raya was the Director of Physician Services at HCA Healthcare, specializing in ambulatory operations, acquisition, and employment of healthcare providers and their practices. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso, a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Health Professionals, and a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership from Argosy University. Her dissertation was titled, "The Role of Emotional Intelligence in Reducing At-Risk Behavior in Latinas." Dr. Raya is the 2024-2025 Chair of the El Paso Chamber Healthcare Coalition. She serves as President-Elect of the local chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives and as Vice-Chair of Pioneers 21. Additionally, she is on the Board of Directors and the current Chair of Evolve Federal Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in El Paso. She is a co-founder of the Women’s Educational Resource Entity, which focuses on empowering women with the knowledge to grow their financial wealth through calculated risk and education. Previously, she served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for KCOS-TV, El Paso's PBS Station.
