Dr. Jiaming Liang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management, Policy & Community Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, San Antonio Campus. Dr. Liang’s research interests encompass the psychological and social experiences of family caregivers of older adults with long-term care needs, particularly those living with dementia (PLWD), and evidence-based interventions designed to mitigate the challenges of caregiving. Dr. Liang has investigated the reciprocal influence of behavioral, physical, and mental health between older adults and their family caregivers. His research delves into caregiving-related adversity and demographic variations, with the aim of enhancing the quality of life for both caregivers and their loved ones. Dr. Liang received cross-cultural and interdisciplinary training in advanced research and analytic methodologies, as well as community-based research and practice. He earned his M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Zhejiang University, China, and his Ph.D. in Social Work from the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California.
