About
Dr. Ashraf Yaseen is a tenured Associate Professor of Data Science at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). His research focuses on artificial intelligence, biomedical informatics, and scalable data systems that transform complex biomedical data into actionable insights for improving population and clinical health. He has led and co-led major data science initiatives advancing real-time analytics, multimodal data integration, and precision public health. Dr. Yaseen is a dedicated mentor and educator; he co-developed and coordinates UTHealth’s Data Science Certificate Programs and has guided numerous graduate and doctoral trainees. His overarching goal is to advance trustworthy, privacy-preserving AI systems that enhance equity, efficiency, and innovation in healthcare.
