Aromatic Amino Acids, Microbiome Metabolites, and Subclinical Disease Risk.
Project Overview
This project investigates how gut microbial metabolites derived from aromatic amino acids influence long-term risks of subclinical and clinical cardiovascular disease and mortality. It measures these metabolites over time in two large, diverse, community-based cohorts to clarify their role in disease pathways and inform future mechanistic and intervention studies.
