Project Details
This pilot study evaluates a peer-led, faith-based MIND+SOUL intervention designed to promote brain health and reduce dementia risk among Black adults aged 60 and older in Houston, Texas. The study will train church-based peer educators to deliver an 8-week culturally and spiritually tailored dietary and brain health program. Using the RE-AIM framework, the project will assess feasibility, acceptability, adoption, and implementation fidelity across two predominantly Black churches. Preliminary outcomes will include changes in dementia knowledge, adherence to the MIND diet, and awareness of cardiovascular risk factors to inform a future fully powered trial.
