What is the purpose of this tool?
This Facts & Tips Sheet provides information about how to mobilize people with specific knowledge and skills to participate in the different steps of the CHAMPSS process.
Mobilizing Key Personnel describes the different roles in school health policymaking for the local SHAC and school district, provides guidelines on identifying the appropriate people to perform the activities for the CHAMPSS steps, and offers tips on how to engage other parents and community members.
Who should receive this tool?
This information is useful for SHAC coordinators, district administrators, and other people who participate in the adoption, implementation, and maintenance of adolescent sexual health programs and who have limited knowledge of, and/or experience with, the policymaking process in school districts. This fact sheet is useful at any step to garner and maintain support throughout the process.
