Event Description
This webinar will explore a comprehensive, clinically grounded overview of the evaluation and management of neonates exposed to or diagnosed with congenital syphilis. With rising rates of congenital syphilis, NICU and newborn care teams play a critical role in early identification, timely treatment, and coordination of care across settings. Participants will examine the complexities of interpreting maternal history, timing of treatment, and factors that inform neonatal risk assessment and clinical decision-making. The session will review current evidence-based recommendations for diagnostic evaluation and treatment pathways. Additional focus will be placed on an in-depth explanation of maternal history interpretation, follow-up care, and effective communication across the patient care continuum, including coordination among OB, pediatrics, NICU, outpatient, and public health providers.
