UTHealth School of Public Health's Center for Community Health Impact was originally founded with funding from the Paso del Norte Health Foundation as the Paso del Norte Institute for Healthy Living. In 2019, Director Leah Whigham moved the IHL to UTHealth and renamed it the Center for Community Health Impact (CCHI). The CCHI works to address obesity and related chronic diseases at a population level through multiple interconnected strategies.
