About the Class

This course brings nutrition to the forefront of health and wellness, teaching healthcare professionals how good food works not only for themselves but for their patients as well. The course teaches consistent nutrition messaging with realistic and effective strategies to increase healthy food consumption. Classes take place in the Holistic Garden and Nourish Teaching Kitchen.

Nutrition Focused Physical Examination Training

About the Class

The Nutrition Focused Physical Examination training is a half-day of preparatory online didactic modules and onsite hands-on group training sessions applying the Academy/ASPEN adult malnutrition guidelines. Participants will be able to practice their skills in our state-of-the-art training/simulation facility. Participants will receive the Nutrition-Focused Physical Exam Illustrated Handbook, published by APSEN and a pen light.

Community Young Farmer’s & Young Chef’s Camp

Ages 7-12
$249 Per Camper

About the Class

In our garden, your young camper will learn how to grow your own mini-farm, how the ecosystem of critters in the garden are integral to the health of our food, why composting is essential to society, how to diagnose and treat plants when they are sick, why plants create colors and flavors, and the role those colors play in our health. Your camper will take that knowledge into the kitchen where they will learn how to cook with a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables and understand why fruits and vegetables are good for us! For more information about Young Farmer's and Young Chef's Camp, please contact Diana Guevara

Join us in the Nourish teaching kitchen for a hands-on cooking class where we will discover how to add flavor to any meal using recipes from our award-winning cookbook: How Good Food Works. Learn how truly simple it is to create delicious sauces, spice mixes, and more. 

"How Good Food Works in the Summer" July 7th, 2022

Join us back in the Nourish teaching kitchen for a hands-on cooking class where we will show you how to put together some of our favorite summer recipes from our award-winning cookbook: How Good Food Works. Using some of the beautiful summer produce from our garden, we will show you how to cook up four easy, delicious, and nutritious plant-forward recipes. 

“Build a Better Bowl” May 26, 2022

Learn how to build a plant based, nourishing meal utilizing seasonal produce. You will learn how to roast vegetables, cook whole grains and make a vinaigrette to complement the ingredients. Join us from the comfort of your office or cook along in your home kitchen! 

“Preppy Pasta Salads” April 21, 2022

Tired of leafy green salads for lunch?  This lesson will show you how to make easy, no-cook pasta and bean salads.  You will also never buy dressing again when you learn how easy and fast you can make Asian, Mediterranean and Tex-Mex inspired dressings. Join us from the comfort of your office or cook along in your home kitchen!

"Dress it up” April 7, 2022

Learn how to reinvent an average meal with one dressing and turn it into something fresh, fast, and delicious.  This Greek inspired plate has a burst of flavor in every bite!
